Lana Del Rey is on the cover of British Vogue magazine, March 2012 issue. Clad in a Louis Vuitton broderie anglaise blouse and a tepid collar, she doesn’t look anything like the brooding fallen angel persona she has cultivated. Fashion photographer Mario Testino captures her in a chaperoned-but-defiant look. She looks a little too tame in her pastel LV blouse but the New Yorker’s red talons do give a glimpse of her darker side.

People still haven’t forgotten her Saturday Night Live performance which received a lot of negative press. Lana has certainly moved on from there and was seen shopping at a Parisian shopping district after a live performance in the French capital.

As much as I love Amy Winehouse, I don’t often associate the height of fashion with the late crooner. But couturier Jean Paul Gaultier was so inspired by the bad girl of soul that he sent a fleet of models down the runway of couture show that were practically in Amy Winehouse costume! The show took place Wednesday in Paris during a week of shows, which present the small and exclusive group of haute couture collections – fashion in it’s “highest” form. And there was more than just the look of Amy in house, as live singers sang the Winehouse hits in the background.

Like Amy, the collection leaned heavily on decades past for it’s stylistic foundation. Of course, it being a Jean Paul Gaultier show, there were twists to be seen, including an assortment of colored hairdos that reached high above the already towering models’ heads.

Lady Gaga made two debuts in Paris today: herself as a runway model and her new song “Government Hooker” from her new album Born This Way. The fashion show that contain all of this gaga madness was itself another debut – that of the pop star’s stylist’s Nicola Formachetti as creative director of Thierry Mugler. Check out a chunk of the show & song in the video below.

You gotta hand it to her – the girl can walk! Many of those pros where having trouble with the sky-high platform heels, but Gaga really worked it.

The Marc Jacobs show left me awestruck today. I’ve been feeling a bit jaded about taking in fashion from my computer screen, but MJ breath new life into this fashion lover! The Fall-Winter 2011-2012 collection was incredible from start to finish. Suffused with polka dots, but tempered with strict, ’40s-inspired tailoring. There were the expected maroons and shin-length skirts but Jacobs has a way of taking a predictable trend and making it look absolutely fresh. And then there was the music… swoon. Couldn’t have picked a better choice: Marilyn Manson’s “Beautiful People” was and awesome, kick-ass, mesmerizing foil to the ultra femininity of the collection. Per.fec.tion.
